Between nostalgia for the spectacular, need for sincerity and a whole bunch of questions.
Where we imagine a journalist from the 50s talking about us with panache:
They sway their talent and courage in the void, hold your wrist 10 meters above the ground, catch a fragile body in mid-flight, change their costume in the blink of an eye. Feats, glitter, words, trumpets, firworks and drum rolls … But what is it for? Cymbal!
This question, they ask themselves seriously and try to answer their best.
So, come and see!
Where we assume that we wrote it:
« Swing into the void what you have of talent and courage, hold your wrist 10 meters above the ground, catch a fragile body in mid-flight, change your costume in the blink of an eye. Feats, glitter, words, trumpets, fireworks and drum rolls… But what is it for? Cymbal!
We ask ourselves this question seriously and try to answer it as best we can.
So come and see! »

★ Because that’s all we know how to do (the pessimist)
★ Because that’s what we do best (the optimist)
★ Because we are scared to go to the armed struggle (the pessimist)
★ Because a joyless struggle is a lost struggle (the optimist)
This show was born from:
★ a craving for an « old fashioned » circus act (which failed).
★ the desire to show a work in pairs on the rope that we love.
★ our love that we do not entirely understand for circus
★ friendships and loveships
★ almost three years of work wondering about the meaning of what we make, between disgust, idleness, and despite everything the urge to believe that it is not entirely in vain.
★ the desire to leave cultural temples (which has failed, for the moment)
★ a DIY construction of a 10 meter high gantry
★ of our disappointments
★ some fun finds
★ a famous replica of Rambo
★ lots of people who came to light, sound, tinker, dress up and manage this circus.

★ L’Association du Vide produced In Your Circus with the tenacious idea – inherited from the first show it hosted (The Void – circus attempt) – that a show is never really finished.
There is always something to take up, to question in order to seek (and perhaps find) meaning to show this to others, unknown, and the impetus to do that rather than to eat ice cream. This is why it takes its time to make, show, modify, reassemble, change, keep, throw, despair, tinker, hope, re-show… It has therefore surveyed for 3 years places that have kindly welcomed and given it here and there a more or less gilded drawers (it often arrives a little too late in the race for production), sometimes showing something that was already this show and at the same time not quite the same, sometimes working hidden from public view. ★
Duration: 30 minutes (approximately)
The show ends with a time of conviviality = gathering around victuals. It takes time that we cannot count. Before we head off to another show, let’s take this time.
To have a drink, to tag our trail, to play, to debate or to fight?!
Appropriate location:
We look for places that look as little as possible as a theater, rather outside (minimum 10m high needed), where it is possible to plant clamps in the ground to anchor the gantry, where it is possible to sit on the ground .
Right moment :
« Between dogs and wolves » = at the end of the day.
When the spotlights can get to work and the fireworks shine.
Or for other reasons, let’s imagine together how to make it shine differently.
Audience:
Everyone is welcome!
Everyone is able to know if (s)he can manage a bad seat, the sight of a buttock, the thrill in front of the void, the harmfulness of candies.
Technical rider:
The show preferably plays outdoors from May to September. It is possible to adapt it indoors, but mounting the gantry is MANDATORY
⊗ MINIMUM height 10m
For an interior configuration, contact us.
⊗ Flat ground, free of any air obstacle (cables, trees, lampposts, etc.)
⊗ Absence of underground network
⊗ Gantry anchors with clamps about 1m deep
⊗ No tribune, the show is watched in a (overflowing) frontal device.
⊗ SOUND – diffusion system adapted to the place and to the audience expected
⊗ LIGHT – provide a 32A tri electrical outlet (3P+N+T) next to the backstage right anchor point, and a 50m 5-point DMX cable
For more information, ask Anna for a detailed technical rider.
